Classwork:  Students handed in News Article (from fact sheet) #1.  Students handed in magazines from 2019.  Daily News Notes #18.  We began viewing the film "A Cry in the Dark".
Homework:  Wednesday is the last chance to turn in a magazine for reduced credit. Hand it in with your own sticky note on the front with your name and class period or a piece of paper sticking out with name and class period.  After this date, the zero will stay.

Classwork:  No journal.  No Hot Words.  Read "The Cruelest Journey" by Kira Salak in Collections textbook pages 421-429.  Write answers only to questions 1-7 on page 430 and answers only to all questions on page 431.

Journalism I

Classwork:  Journal #17.   Passes were turned in for extra credit.  Magazines were collected.  Students wrote a News Story #1 in class, according to data on information sheet.  At home:  type up article (Times New Roman, 1.5 line spacing, 12 point font-due Monday).
Homework:  Don't forget to bring in a 2019 magazine (remove any personal information like name and address).  Due Monday 10/22/19.

Classwork:  Journal #13.  Complete Hot Words 9 & 10 and hand in.  The PSAT testing location list was passed around, check with the Guidance if you were absent to know where to go on Wednesday.  "The Odyssey" Test was given.  Unused passes were handed in.

Classwork:  Daily News Notes #16.  Cut out two NEWS articles THAT HAVE all of the following elements:who, what, where, when, why and how. Get a paper; you do not have to wait to return to class for a newspaper.  Paste the two articles to a paper.  For each article, highlight the six elements and then write the 5Ws & H of each article alongside the article, on the paper.
Homework:  Read the news.  Bring in a magazine to donate to class for activity.
