Classwork:  Last day to turn in exemption forms.  Ask for Active vs. Passive voice and scavenger hunt papers back.  Review answers to Copy Editing #2.  In the Journalism Today textbook pages 46-51, read and take notes on Hazelwood.
Homework:  Prepare for midterm.  Rest.

AICE General Paper

Classwork:  No journal.  Ask for a comma practice.  Hand in notes for Chapters 4-20 of TKM.  Read and begin a new note sheet for Chapters 21 & 22.
Homework:  Study for the Midterm.

Journalism I

Classwork:  No Daily News Notes.  Ask for an Active vs. Passive voice sheet.  Ask for a copy editing #2 sheet.  Ask a classmate for the review of what is on the midterm exam and see the topics to study on the board.  Hand in unused passes. 
Homework:  If you missed today, be aware that I will be signing exemption forms on Monday.  I can't grade your make-up work and sign your form in class on Monday.  See me before then to get work in or do not expect to exempt.

AICE General Paper

Classwork:    No journal today.  Ask for Capitalization II.  Ask for UpFront magazine (dated             ).  Preview of Midterm Exam.  Sharing of more ads and structures of organisation.  Read Chapters 19 & 20 of TKM and take notes.
Homework:  keep up with reading and notes.

Journalism I

5th hour:  Daily News Notes #34.  Continue film Shattered Glass about ethics in journalism.
Homework:  Read the news.

8th hour:  From last class that we did not see each other, set up Daily News Notes #33 and write Excused:  Code Red.  Set up today's Daily News Notes #34 and write the words:  Catch up (don't make up).  Today we caught up to 5th hour in the film.
Homework:  Read the news.

AICE General Paper

Classwork:  Students turned in AICE conflict letter with parent signatures.  Ask for a Capitalization Practice.  We reviewed Chapter 4 Quiz.  Ask for your ad back.  Using the ad (it will be stapled to the back), write one paragraph regarding which organisational structure (from your AICE notes) was  used in the ad and explain how it was used.  Consider the photo(s) and words from the ad.  Hand it in.  Read Chapters 17 & 18 of TKM and take notes.
Homework:  AICE letter and keep up with reading and notes.

Journalism I

Classwork:  Daily News Notes #33.  We began film "Shattered Glass" about journalism ethics.
Homework:  Read the news.

AICE General Paper

Classwork:  No journal.  We reviewed TKM 1-10 quiz.  Students completed Compound Subjects sheet (side 2).  Ask for AICE letter to parents and Statement of Entry.  Chapters 12-14 were reviewed.  Take notes (!) and read Chapters 15 & 16.
Homework:  Keep up with reading and notes.

Classwork:  Daily News Notes #32.  Ask for Scavenger Hunt/Punctuation of Quotes Practice and a copy of the November issue of The Circuit.
Homework:  Finish today's assignment and bring it next class.

AICE General Paper

Classwork:  No journal. Reviewed AICE Paper 2.  Students handed in UpFront dated 11/18/19.  Hot Words List #5, words 9 & 10.  If you had not yet turned in the magazine ad, it was collected today.  Read Chapter 14 of TKM and take notes.  Ask for a subject/verb practice handout.
Homework:  Have notes and reading of TKM up to date.

Journalism I

Classwork:  Daily News Notes #31.  Ask for a News Story #2 fact sheet.  Use it to write a news style story following all story grading criterion.  Turn in one hand written copy stapled to the top of the fact sheet.
Homework:  Read the news.  Find a happy story.
